Understanding the Identity Maestro Installer

The Identity Maestro installer must be run on a supported Windows 64-bit server platform (Windows 2019 or Windows 2016). The installer is capable of installing all of the components required for an Identity Maestro server:

  • Identity Maestro Web Applications - this includes:
    • creating a local service account and adds that account to the local 'Administrators' and the 'IIS_USRS' groups,
    • creating IIS application pools for each Identity Maestro web application and assigning the local service account as the identity for each application pool.
    • creating the following websites (web applications) and binding each to their respective application pool:
      • Default Web Site hosts the web site that users and administrators access to perform tasks.
      • Omni.WorkflowEngine hosts the Workflow Center web application.
      • Omni.RA.Microsoft.AzureAD.Agent hosts the Azure AD Remote Agent web application.
      • Omni.RA.Dynamics.Agent hosts the Dynamics Remote Agent web application.
    • installs the Configure Connections utility.

  • ServiceControl Connection Agent Services
    • installs the ServiceControl Omni Connection Agent Windows service used to create user home folders for Active Directory and directory, and
    • installs the ServiceControl Omni Connection Agent x64 Windows service used to manage Exchange On-Premise mailboxes.

  • Identity Maestro Utilities. A set of utilities to backup Identity Maestro, stop and start Identity Maestro services, manage database services, and test connections for TLS 1.2 hardening.  Utilities are installed in the \IdentityMaestro\Utilities folder.

  • Identity Maestro Resources
    • Create Form template files that can be imported into the Create module.
    • Custom Task template files that can be imported into the Manage module.
    • Email script files that contain copies of the Self-Service module email scripts.
    • A copy of the nist_latest.json file in case Identity Maestro experiences a corrupt file error.
    • A set of installation default web config files for the Identity Maestro websites.
